Pfff, being able to find them for $3000 in running shape makes it a beater to me. I would baby a ZR-1 or a Grand Sport. A standard '85? That thing is getting driven until the wheels fall off...from all the spokes getting torqued into powder.

If it makes you feel better, I did vote for the 924. Purely on looks, since it's not like Wankels are that much more reliable than 924s.

I'm just considering sunk cost. The way I look at it is you can spend $800 on a really terrible car and be repairing it every other week, or you can spend the $3000 up front and get something that looks and smells awful but only needs fixing a couple times every year.
